Ballpoint bic pen Advert

Today, in our Media sessions, we had to create a 1 minute advert that would promote the Ballpoint pen in a way that people would be invested in. There were many different job roles for us to do and the one that I did was the soundtrack.

What I had to do for this is I had to choose an appropriate soundtrack that would suit the tone of the advert, stick onto a memory and download it. I also had the responsibility of controlling the volume of the sound, both diegetic and non diegetic and the transitions of sound by using fades in and fades out.

The skills that I felt I learned today were I learned how to use the sound mixing machine in the editing room which in the end I found rather easy and I also learned more about downloading sound off of YouTube. I found the controlling of the volume far easier than I thought I would because I had never used that machine before and because there were a lot of technical aspects to it which I can struggle with I thought it would be reasonably difficult but in the end I felt it was rather easy actually.

If I were to develop these skills even further, I would try to use these machines a little more often than I have done in the past if there are any future projects that require these machines and various softwares.

If I could have improved on anything, I would improve the choice of the chosen soundtrack by making sure the tone of it seems more accurate to the tone of the advert because I felt the soundtrack I choose today was too slow for the more upbeat tone of the advert.
